Newcomers JNR Drip With Delight On Their Debut Single, ‘Remember’

Sydney based trio, jnr recently unveiled their debut single and video, Remember. It’s a short and sweet two wholesome minutes of pure pop joy.

The trio made up of Ben Siva, Nico Scalo and Max Jacobs have been writing music for almost 10 years. You can hear that from the moment you press play as Remember doesn’t come across as nervous debut single. It’s bright and cheerful filled with hyper pop style beats, huge guitar work and feel good melodies.

Although the tune offers an uplifting beat, lyrically it pushes onto a darker note as front man Ben explains.

“‘remember’ deals with grief, nostalgia, and the moment you are forced to put yourself in your parent’s shoes. I think anyone can relate to wanting to remember someone or something from their childhood, but the song has a deeper meaning for me. I’m always drawn to darker lyrical themes and uplifting instrumentals – that push and pull always attracted me to some of my favourite artists.” Ben Siva, jnr.

The accompanying video is a perfect visual representation of the audio offering. Dripping with fast flowing colour and filtered retro TV styles, it’s almost exactly how one would picture it was meant to look.
