Nico Ghost Haunts with New Single “Night Terrors”
Get ready to pull up your bed sheets over your head and leave the night light on for Nico Ghost’s broody new track Night Terrors. The South African-born, Melbourne-based hip-hop artist continues to breathe fresh air into the Aussie hip-hop scene with his dark and sinister song.
With its steady thumping bass and smooth vocals, Night Terrors is sure to send shivers down your spine. The song conjures up memories of walking down dark alleyways and shadowy nights in dingy bars (an image which may not be too far off considering Nico Ghost works weekends at a nightclub).
Although not addressed lyrically, the song alludes to darker beginnings. Nico Ghost was born at the end of apartheid and has lost three brothers to murder and suicide. This makes his repetition of “Night terrors in the night” all the more potent.
Nico Ghost has a unique sound that can’t be pigeon holed, so even if you’re not a fan of the genre his new track is definitely worth a listen.
Having just come off a national tour supporting Wu-Tang Clan, Nico Ghost shows no signs of slowing down heading on tour this weekend with American rapper G-Eazy.
