No Cigar Share Dreamy New Single ‘Best Behaviour’ Amidst Rapid Global Rise

New Zealand indie-rock rising stars No Cigar have returned with their latest single ‘Best Behaviour’, a silky-smooth slice of nostalgia that blends breezy guitars with a laidback groove and magnetic vocal delivery. The track arrives as their second release of 2025, following a string of milestones including a sold-out national tour and growing international attention.

On ‘Best Behaviour’, frontman Willy Ferrier captures the nerves of meeting a partner’s parents for the first time, wrapping the anxiety in charm, vulnerability, and tongue-in-cheek honesty. The song’s mellow progression is gradually layered with slick guitar licks and dynamic textures that build beautifully across the track, making it one of their most polished releases yet.

“Meeting the parents will always be a tense moment, laced with trepidation. To be on one’s best behaviour is the expectation. To be nervous is understandable. To be perfect is unlikely. The rawness and fragility reflect everyone’s mind-state in such moments. Being an artist can’t even prepare you for moments like these.”Willy Ferrier, No Cigar.

Co-produced by Conor Jaine (Mako Road, Summer Thieves) and penned during a writing session in Chantilly, France, the track glows with confidence and cohesion, a testament to the band’s evolving songwriting chops.

No Cigar’s momentum continues to climb off the back of 2023’s breakout album The Great Escape, which remains in the top 20 of the Aotearoa charts after 65 weeks. With a distinct sound that bridges indie, psychedelic, and surf rock, No Cigar are firmly establishing themselves as one of New Zealand’s most exciting musical exports
