Nominations Are Open For The Tenth Grant McLennan Fellowship!

Mcclennan

Nominations have opened for one of the ultimate opportunities for budding songwriters in Queensland, the 2016 Grant McLennan Fellowship.

The prize for the winner of the $25,000 Fellowship includes the opportunity to travel to New York, London, or Berlin for up to six months “to be immersed in a foreign and vibrant musical culture to further develop their own artistic skills”.

The Fellowship was founded in 2007 in honour of the late Go-Betweens singer-songwriter Grant McLennan, as an opportunity for local songwriters to take their career to the next level.

This will be the tenth year the Fellowship has been offered and the tenth anniversary of the passing of Grant McLennan.

Previous winners of the Fellowship include Timothy Steward (We All Want To, Screamfeeder), Thomas Calder (The Trouble With Templeton), and Seja Vogel.

If you think you have the musical chops to stand alongside these legends you’ll have to submit by September 19, with the winner announced in December.
