Oh Hello Is Officially Closing
After seven years of ushering the dance community of Brisbane into something new and austere, Oh Hello is officially closing its doors. The Fortitude Valley staple has helped some of the country’s biggest acts with touring in the area and has promised one hell of a closing party.
In a statement, Oh Hello expressed their humble gratitude to its seven-year success.
“We had a dream, which was to open a space where people could come together, celebrate the love for music and connect with one another. We call this space Oh Hello today. We created some lifelong friendships and memories along the way. Memories that we will never take for granted.”
During its time on that infamous corner in the Valley, the venue played host to such international household names as Skrillex, Flume, ODESZA, Kaytranada, What So Not, Alison Wonderland, RL Grime, Tash Sultana, Golden Features, Disclosure and many more. Not to mention Oh Hello was the main player in BIGSOUNG—opening its doors to some rising national talent and hosting the annual triple j Unearthed stage.
According to the venue’s Facebook, Saturday 18 August will be its last day of trading. So time to gather your mates for one last drink in its illuminated hallways. RIP Oh Hello.
