Osaka Hits Guitar Heavy With Groovy New Single “Weights”

fmkb_OsakaWeightsLeadCostaVirtanenWEB--1

If Osaka’s old school aesthetic hasn’t already caught your attention, their new single Weights will get you groovin’ with the car roof down and the wind in your hair. Following their first single Vessels, the Melbourne trio have given us a second taste of their debut EP ‘Manoeuvres’, sure to prove their place in the industry as a steady up-and-comer.

The sneaky intro guitar riff appears to approach and fade in to you, while the verse hits you with a funky bass line and feet tapping drums to get you going. With clean channel guitars and harmonising vocals, Weights takes us deeper into the realm of the feels with lyrics that speak of the burdens that weigh us down, and what would happen if you allowed them to crush you. Nevertheless, the infectious tune becomes one you’ll be singing by the end of the first listen. Backing vocals close out the track in an interesting mix, and you’re left wishing it wasn’t over just yet.

This new tune builds on Osaka’s indie-but-grunge, laid-back aesthetic, and showcases that their music not only has depth, but it will have you moving in no time, too!

Osaka will be announcing live shows soon enough, but until then just have to hit this tune on repeat (dammit!). If Weights is anything to go by, their debut EP will be one to keep an eye out for.
