Party Dozen Share New Single, ‘Money & The Drugs’

Sydney punk duo Party Dozen have unleashed another explosive track from their upcoming fourth album, Crime in Australia. The new single, Money & The Drugs, hits hard and fast, standing in stark contrast to the more melodic previous release, The Big Man Upstairs.

Inspired by the unique sounds of Sydney’s airport pick-up zone, Money & The Drugs starts with a rumbling bass that mirrors the hum of low-flying aircraft. This builds into an intense, frenetic energy, with Tickle’s saxophone wailing and Boulet’s driving rhythms. The track showcases the duo’s raw and unrestrained style, capturing the chaotic essence that fans have come to love.

“The first section of this song is inspired by a sound that we heard at the airport pick up zone in Sydney. A small aircraft coming in to land low would project this low bending rumble into the cement car park filling it with resonant frequencies.

”Money & The Drugs’ features Kirsty really letting it out into her saxophone void. Then it picks up a coupla gears into a rockin’ frenzy” he continues. ‘It’s one of our most fun songs to play live. But sometimes too much of a good thing can land you in deep water. Sometimes this song gets away from us.” – Jonothon Boulet, Party Dozen.

The accompanying music video, shot at New Zealand’s Camp A Low Hum festival, delivers a blistering live performance that encapsulates the song’s high-octane vibe. Directed by Aaron Streatfeild and Will Agnew, and edited by Boulet, the footage captures what might be the band’s most electrifying show yet.

As Party Dozen gears up for a series of live gigs, Money & The Drugs promises to be a thrilling addition to their setlist, leaving audiences hungry for more.
