Pinky Ring Drop Raw and Emotional Single ‘China White’
Sydney’s rising indie group Pinky Ring have unleashed their powerful new single, China White, a raw breakup anthem that delves deep into the chaotic aftermath of heartbreak. Featured on their recently released Pinky Ring Live EP, the track captures the band’s signature blend of intense emotion and electrifying live energy.
Written by lead vocalist and songwriter Samuel Vickary just hours after the end of a long-term relationship, China White explores the pull of self-destructive vices as a fleeting escape from emotional pain. The verses reflect a stubborn denial of grief, while the explosive chorus reveals the harsh truth of lingering heartache.
“‘China White’ was written a few hours after a long term relationship ended, I couldn’t think of anything to help other than get absolutely cooked. The verses are me telling myself it doesn’t mean anything to me and the chorus is the realisation it actually does.” – SAMUEL VICKARY, PINKY RING

Recorded at DefWolf Studios, the single mirrors the band’s high-energy live performances, with Vickary’s candid vocals supported by a tight-knit ensemble of talented instrumentalists. Pinky Ring’s ability to channel vulnerability into dynamic arrangements is on full display, making China White a standout addition to their growing discography.
“I took the whole song written over two chords in my book to our friend Tom Joseph’s house and a few hours later we had a fully shaped song demo recorded. After that, I was super excited about it. When it came time to actually record it, we decided to do it live and harness the energy and anger of the song.” – SAMUEL VICKARY, PINKY RING
Fans of heartfelt indie rock with an edge won’t want to miss this release. With a relentless drive to push boundaries and connect deeply through their music, Pinky Ring is cementing their place as one of Sydney’s most exciting emerging acts.
