Polish Club Announce Tour, Drop Thrash Banger “Beat Up”

Sydney soul-punk duo Polish club must have been working with Huey Lewis, cause they have some news! The up-and-comers have dropped a fresh single Beat Up as well as announcing their very first headline tour!

Beat Up is everything you expected when you clicked on a link for a new Polish Club song. In two words, fast and furious, albeit without Vin Diesel, and full of energy. Drummer John-Henry will be looking for the nearest pharmacy to get a tube of Voltaren after his mammoth effort on the skins and cymbals, as he never lets up with a break-neck beat and thrasing sound. This is matched by the intensity of frontman Novak on both the axe and with his vocals, and you can sense the rawness and emotion pulsating through the track.

Polish Club are the convergence of soul and punk, two genres which, at least on paper, don’t necessarily go together. However, it almost seems like the most natural blend ever concocted when you listen to their tracks, and you den definitely sense the power and feeling in every sound on any Polish Club release.

Not only have the band dropped a single, but they’re bringing it to you directly, as they’ve announced their very first headline tour! Hitting a string of dates and venues along the east coast, including a stop in at the Long Jetty Street Festival, the band want to make sure you hear Beat Up in the form it’s meant to be: live and loud!

Here in the AAA office, we’ve heard a lot of varying descriptions of the duo’s sound, including “they’re a punky, male Amy Winehouse”, which we think is fairly apt. They’ve been on the up and up recently, with performances at BIGSOUND in Brisbane, and right off the back of a support slot on Northeast Party House’s national tour last month.

Beat Up is the first taste of Polish Club’s debut album which is set for release early next year, so make sure to check below for the tour dates and to hear the new track!
