PREMIERE: Fripps & Fripps Stand For What They Believe In With ‘Pest Control’

The alt-rock veterans of Australia could learn a thing or two from Fripps & Fripps. The fast paced frenzy of their garage-branded rock is infectious and hails a significant change in the market. Hailing from Cronulla, the four-piece has been cutting their teeth on the road for a while along with a debut EP. Now it’s time to really catch them on your radar with their new single, Pest Control. AAA Backstage has the exclusive premiere before its release.

Moving away from the slightly fused synths and indie-washed sounds of their previous material, Fripps & Fripps are taking it in a heavier, more garage sound. There are a few purveyors of the cataclysmic genre who’ve made it their own and innovated on what our flannel-wearing forefathers originally wrote. Pest Control take the best of the alt-rock scene in Australia and the group bends, shapes and moulds it to their appropriation. The drums are relentless paired with the punchy riffs—not to mention the spit-fire vocal cues that hit all the right notes.

Clearly Fripps & Fripps enjoys making music as much as live performing it live and having that crowd feedback. They account Pest Control to a balance of raw energy of fun in their craft.

‘Pest Control’ is a song about passion. It bleeds raw energy and attempts to make you want to get up and take action. The song is rooted in the idea of standing up for what you believe in and tries to balance feelings of anger, happiness, and fun,” says the band.

‘Feeler On The Roof’ was the group’s debut EP released last year. Pest Control comes as the second taste of their sophomore release, due out later this year, following previous single, Cigarettes For Breakfast.

Fripps & Fripps will be keeping busy over the next few months with shows in and around their stomping grounds of Sydney. Be sure to catch their most excellent Pest Control single launch on Saturday 28 April at Waywards in Newtown. Catch their tour itinerary below along with the exclusive stream of Pest Control.
