Premiere: Lake Crook Mouth Drops Vibrant New Single ‘Thirty One’ Ahead of Debut Album
Sydney’s genre-blurring maverick Lake Crook Mouth is back with a fresh dose of sonic sunshine, and AAA Backstage is stoked to bring you the exclusive first listen of his upbeat new track, Thirty One. Officially dropping tomorrow, this feel-good anthem is a kaleidoscope of gritty guitars, lush melodies, and masterful storytelling that captures the thrill of wandering without a map.
Inspired by a backpacking trip across Europe, Thirty One weaves together snapshots of places, cultures, and fleeting connections—like a photo album in musical form. Its title nods to an old Portuguese saying Lake Crook Mouth stumbled upon during his travels, perfectly encapsulating the song’s spirit of curiosity and adventure.

“Thirty One is a collage of stories, sketches, images and experiences collected from backpacking around Europe. Getting its title from an (allegedly) old Portuguese saying picked up on a free walking tour, Thirty One explores the romance of aimlessly wandering in the chapters between chapters. Exploring places and cultures, the people you share them with and meet along the way, Thirty One is a photo-book of experiences in the process of becoming memories.” – Lake Crook Mouth.
The single is a taste of his forthcoming debut album Here, Here & Finally Here, out October 31. Known offstage as Lock Campbell, Lake Crook Mouth melds the raw energy of his rock roots with the textures of hip-hop, electronic, and pop—a sound shaped during his time studying at London’s Abbey Road Institute and honed back home in Sydney.
Thirty One is out tomorrow, but you can catch it here first. Press play and let it soundtrack your next daydream.
