Premiere: Lucinda Poy Unveils New Single ‘Liar’

Perth-based indie-pop rising star Lucinda Poy is back with her most emotionally charged track yet, ‘Liar’, officially due for release tomorrow, Friday August 22. But today, fans get the very first exclusive listen right here before it drops tomorrow.

Liar dives deep into the sting of broken trust, asking haunting questions about what happens when someone you love isn’t who you thought they were. Built on a pulsing pop backbone, layered synths and heartbeat-like percussion, the track balances glossy production with raw vulnerability. Poy’s striking vocals shift effortlessly from delicate falsetto to impassioned cries, carrying every ounce of heartache and reflection.

Since debuting in 2024 with her single ‘Just Fine’, which has clocked up some very impressive online streams, Lucinda Poy has steadily carved a name for herself. Her collaborations with Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse, and a stirring duet with Dami Im at a sold-out Christmas showcase, have positioned her as one of Australia’s most promising new voices.

To celebrate the release, Lucinda Poy will launch the single with a live performance at Lyric’s Underground in Perth on September 25, joined by Pareidolia and Rosalie Chilvers.
