PREMIERE: Fall Under Mack Fyah’s Spell On ‘Voodoo’
Collaborating with Sydney’s Fermi and YoungZoeBeats from America, Voodoo is a spell bounding new single from Mack Fyah. The Cypriot—who now called Marrickville home—blasts a whole heap of soul into his rhymes. AAA Backstage has the exclusive premiere before its release.
Straight off the bat, it’s the sharply-crafted beats that propel this track into a new rhythm altogether. Paired with the smooth vocals of Mack Fyah, the production remains a point of reference and backbone to the enchanting words from the MC. His craft shines through his words and remains in control of the track.
Battling off negative energy and putting his faith in the rhymes, Mack Fyah uses music as a way to fight the darkness and see the light on the other end.
“Voodoo is about coming to peace with the demons that love brings out of us when we’re under the spell. Realising that these darknesses are as much a part of us as the light,” explains Mack Fyah. “All forces have equal and opposite reactions.”
The song comes paired with a visual piece from Nardean. It’s a transfixing, analogue realisation of the single that, much like its themes, places you under its spell and fights hard to let go.
