Premiere: Quinny Unveils His Latest Single, ‘Boxing Day Bells’

Melbourne-based indie-pop artist Quinny will reveal his brand new single and video tomorrow, Box Day Bells, and today we bring you the very first spin and viewing of the dynamic new track. The new track follows his 2023 EP, Act Like a Saint.

Boxing Day Bells is a light-hearted track that feels like home. A nostalgia-packed ballad that oozes good vibes. It tells the tale from the perspective of someone who is hung up on the good old days and wants to skip Christmas to wake up on Boxing Day.

“This song tells the story of someone so steeped in nostalgia for how things used to be they can’t enjoy the good old days happening right now. It’s also about how it’s okay to just avoid Christmas if it’s not for you. This guy is choosing to sleep through it, setting his alarm for Boxing Day when it will hopefully all be over.” 

“In terms of the video, I worked with Alison and Sean at AE Creative on it, filming one late winter day in Edinburgh Gardens. The guy on the skateboard is my cousin and actor Keir Aitken, another Scottish native. We did a few takes, one great one which was ruined by a family having fun on their bikes behind me… bah humbug.” – Quinny.

Boxing Day Bells is a super light track that almost everyone can resonate with, highlighting Quinny’s top-shelf songwriting abilities. It’s available tomorrow, but you can listen right here exclusively today.
