Premiere: Useless Spaceman Reveal Their New Single, ‘Safe and Sound’
Melbourne alternative indie outfit, Useless Spaceman are returning this week with a brand new single, Safe and Sound. It’s taken from their forthcoming debut album, The Marlboro Man Rides Again which is due out April 29.
Safe and Sound is a floating tune that is full of energy however easy on the ears. It carries a classic 90’s style to it with it’s plucky guitars, animated drum work and a husky vocal delivery. The track is written around the dying days of a couple’s romantic relationship and the rollercoaster of emotions that come along with it.
“The narrator realises the end is near and begins spiralling into a pit of self-pity, drunkenness and despair, finding their only comfort ‘on the cold and dirty ground’. Their emotional downfall culminates with a quiet moment of sensible reflection, followed by a climactic burst of renewed passion for the person they once believed would be their partner for life.” – Useless Spaceman
Safe and Sound is available on April 1st but you can listen right here exclusively, today! Useless Spaceman’s debut album, The Marlboro Man Rides Again is set for release on April 29. The band are also holding an album launch on May 7.
