I started working on Semi-Aquatic at a point where I felt frustrated and a little disheartened trying to work in music. I felt like I had to do things a very particular way and keep my messages and my branding extremely commercial and professional which was starting to get to me. The entire song is a reflection on my experience with making music vs releasing music.”
