Pretenders Create A “Holy Commotion” With New Single + Album Announcement
Eight years since their last album release, English rockers Pretenders have returned to the airwaves, with a brand new single, the groovy Holy Commotion!.
Made famous by the heartwarming I’ll Stand By You (yes, the one you’re currently internally serenading to yourself), the band have released Holy Commotion! as a taster for their eleventh forthcoming album ‘Alone’.
Booming drumming sets the scene for a feel-good, poptastic track that should easily find its way onto your Good Morning playlist. Leading lady Chrissie Hynde’s smooth, calling vocals shine among the funky shimmering synthesiser riffs to produce a track that certainly wouldn’t be out of place in the 80s. There’s a lot happening in the track, but the many synths, guitars, and percussion embellishments all somehow intertwine perfectly!
Hynde and the current band lineup were joined by The Black Keys’ guitarist/singer Dan Auerbach, who produced and featured on the track. ‘Alone’ is set for release on Friday, 21st of October, but in the meantime check out Holy Commotion! below.
