PSA: Chet Faker Wants To Be Called By His Real Name
Out with the old, and in with the… old. This morning angel-voiced electronic muso Chet Faker took to Facebook to announce the departure from his stage moniker. The follow-up release to his 2014 ARIA platinum-certified debut record will officially be released under his birth name, Nick Murphy.
“There’s an evolution happening and I wanted to let you know where it’s going,” the 28-year-old singer-producer’s Facebook announcement read.
“Chet Faker will always be a part of the music,” he added. “This is next.”
So, as quickly as the Chet Faker phenomenon began, there seems a dramatic change is in the works, even if it’s only between debut and sophomore records.
He’s also (shock-horror) changed his social media imagery to solid black. Ooo-oo-oooo-oo.
Nonetheless, we’ll be eagerly waiting what Nick Murphy’s music entails, even though the new (or rather, old) name just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
