Puppers Aplenty In Latest Video From Dorsal Fins
Dorsal Fins have sneaked into our ear drums once again with their groovy, indie pop sounds. Today, they announced second album ‘Digital Zodiac’ to be released on Friday, 28th of October. Along with this, they gave us our first taste Sedated with accompanying video.
Sedated opens with swirling synthesisers as if entering a digital new world, before exploding into warped colour with bouncing instrumentation, while a warped guitar melody drifts across the track.
Yearning, slacker vocals sing of the depressing feeling of being sedated with pure style and little happiness. Finally, the track culminates in a passion-filled, psychedelic peak with huge screams from what sounds like a reborn vocalist.
“When the sun slinks way too low, and the stars forget to shine, and you need a cryogenic sleep chamber to knock you out and wake up somewhere a 1,000 years in the future… you write a song like Sedated.. and then you feel better.” says Dorsal Fins’ frontman Matt Brown.
The music video has the absurd, lo-fi appeal you expect of a Mac Demarco music video with the random green screen tricks you get from a modern Adult Swim show. While the clip seems to be an adventure without a plot, it seems to focus on puppies which is always good.
A haunting porcelain dalmatian puppy statue is the star for most of the clip, while clips of the band are chopped up and sprinkled throughout.
Dorsal Fins are currently doing a run of shows across east coast cities to launch Sedated, make sure not to miss ’em. Check out the video and remaining tour dates below!
