Queensland BIGSOUND Artists Pick Their Dream Collabs From The 2025 Line-Up

As Brisbane gears up to host BIGSOUND 2025 from September 2–5, the country’s premier music conference and festival is once again set to become a hotbed for collaboration, discovery, and career‑defining moments. Each year, artists from across the nation converge on Fortitude Valley to perform, connect, and spark creative partnerships that can shape the future of Australian music. This year, we asked some of Queensland’s most exciting homegrown talents which fellow acts on the BIGSOUND lineup they’d dream of working with — and their answers are as diverse and inspiring as the festival itself.

AMÉLIE FARREN

I’m a huge fan of storytelling in songs. I really enjoy creating music that can be listened to at a surface level, but when you focus on the lyrics, the story becomes a lot more nuanced. There are so many great artists playing at BIGSOUND this year but seeing as I appreciate a good narrative, and if I could only choose one, I’d want to collaborate with Day We Ran. We happened to play at the same UK festival; they’ve got great presence.

CORA

Darcie Haven’s whole vibe is super cool, love the lyrics and the sound of her voice. I think she’s worked with some people that I’ve worked with before as well. Seems like she’s got a devoted fandom and a great approach to socials, would love to see how our voices mix.

Le Shiv I’m really digging it – their songs are great & seem fun to play live, which is inspiring to me in that regard, especially because I value having live music behind my songs and want to strive for that to be one of the main driving points for my live set.

Lola Scott, I loveee her voice. So beautiful. Her songwriting is sick too, overall just love her vibe.

Mariae Cassandra seems really cool with a great approach to socials. Her songs & voice are awesome, I think we would sound pretty cool together.

DAY WE RAN

Le Shiv – We love how unique and anthemic their sound is. Le Shiv are also really just generally dope and have brilliant songwriting.

DENIM

I would love to collab with 1nn3r5lf 🤍 I would love to hear our energies fuse together into a hectic club track

DENZEL KENNEDY

The artists I’d love to collaborate with are Nate G and Zafty. Both of them are doing crazy things with hip-hop on the Aus music scene and I think my style and theirs could gel well together. There’s too many talented artists to choose from!

LYRIC

I would absolutely love to collaborate with Mariae Cassandra! I found her music on Tik Tok last year and actually met her at the last Bigsound and she’s just the sweetest. Her music has such a beautiful, indie pop, coming-of-age vibe to it, and my favorite artists are all pop girlies so I think it’s only fair that I would collaborate with another pop girlie.

FRED LEONE

I would most like to collaborate with BADASSMUTHA… coz they’re f@#ken funky as f@#k!!

ROBBIE MORTIMER

1) The Wet Whistles –  I’d love to collaborate with The Wet Whistles. They’re in a league of their own authentic, raw, and completely original. Their sound has this infectious energy that pulls you in, and everything they release just feels right. You can tell they’re not chasing trends they’re making music that’s true to who they are, and that’s rare. Honestly, I’d be just as happy sharing a beer with them as I would be sharing a stage. It’d be a dream to work with a band like that.

2) Nate G – I had a look through his catalogue and would definitely be keen on a cross genre collaboration something in the vein of what Bailey Zimmerman and BigXthaPlug are doing. I think Australia needs to be more open to those kinds of genre-blending moments. Nate G is an artist with serious potential, and his sound is something I’m genuinely drawn to. There’s something fresh there, and I’d be excited to explore what we could create together.

THE WET WHISTLES

An artist on the BIGSOUND lineup that we’d love to collaborate with is Tyla Rodrigues. We think Tyla has one of the most beautiful, authentic sounding country voices in all of Australia (and of the world for that matter)! We have been in each others orbit over the years and just waiting for the right time to make something happen! Absolutely love her work and think she has an big career ahead of her! Go Tyla!

UGLI

Our top pick for collaboration would be RNZŌ. His electronic flair and killer bars are something we can definitely meld well with. As all members of UGLi are producers, a spontaneous mid-BIGSOUND session in our Brisbane studio, would create magic very quickly.

From cross‑genre experiments to powerhouse vocal pairings, these dream collaborations show exactly why BIGSOUND remains such an important catalyst for Australia’s music industry. As the Valley prepares to welcome artists, industry, and fans for another unforgettable year, one thing is clear: the connections made here don’t just stay on stage — they ripple through the music scene long after the festival lights go down. Who knows? By the time BIGSOUND 2026 rolls around, we might be hearing some of these collaborations come to life.
