Raury Adds Acoustic Spin To A$AP Rocky’s L$D For Like A Version

American folk, hip-hop, and soul man Raury performed a wicked acoustic cover of A$AP Rocky’s L$D (LOVE x $EX x DREAMS) for triple j’s Like A Version. Raury is currently a special guest on A$AP Rocky’s national tour and stopped by triple j’s studio this morning to perform a beautiful stripped back version.

A$AP Rocky’s L$D (LOVE x $EX x DREAMS) made it into triple j’s Hottest 100 (#64) so, it’s a timely song for Raury to cover. When we heard Raury was performing a “stripped back” version, we were curious to say the least. But wow, Raury sure knows how to captivate a room and deliver genuine soul. With just a cajon drum and acoustic guitars to support him, Raury demonstrated an ability to transform A$AP Rocky into an easy listening acoustic version.

Raury’s tone is crisp and soulful, and evokes some pretty deep feels. Listen in closely to the lyrics and absorb the heartfelt message Raury sings: “I know I dream about her all day/I think about her with her clothes off”. Towards the end of Raury’s L$D (LOVE x $EX x DREAMS) cover he whips out wicked rap that’s refreshing and just really delicious.

Raury is set to play two intimate shows interstate this weekend. He will also be performing at the Good Life festival this year in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth.
