Ready Your Appetite For Destruction, Guns N’ Roses Announce Aussie Tour

Guns N’ Roses fans, the ridiculously long wait is over! Pull out your aviators, tight jeans, and headscarves ’cause the rock legends are coming to Australia for a huge stadium tour!

After a billboard was spotted in Melbourne and a promo video was leaked earlier this week, it has finally been confirmed the glam rock outfit will be returning to our shores as they perform together for their first World Tour in more than 20 years.

The ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour will feature the original trio of Slash, Duff, and Axl Rose, who will be joined by long-time keyboardist Dizzy Reed. Guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer will also feature in the live band.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1985, Guns N’ Roses now have six studio albums and countless immortal rock anthems. Their debut album ‘Appetite for Destruction’ catapulted them to glam rock royalty back in 1987 with songs like Welcome to the Jungle and Sweet Child O’ Mine.

While they’ve had some controversial releases since then (*cough* ‘Chinese Democracy’), the gents are still a household name all the world over, and have done some interesting side projects over the years. Slash has had a successful and interesting solo career and basically copyrighted the top hat, and Axl has become infamous for his controversial behaviour; let’s not forget the time time he called Metallica frontman James Hetfield a “stupid little c*cks*cker” after he mocked Axl’s tour rider. And of course Axl Rose sang for AC/DC just a few months ago, which got rave reviews from originally nervous fans.

Opening acts haven’t been announced yet but our best guess is Wolfmother, as the Aussie hard rock band have been opening for GNR on their current tour of the US.
