Robbie Miller Hittin’ The “Road” For New EP ‘Closer To Home’
Following up his debut EP ‘The Faster The Blood Slows’ was never going to be an easy task, but Robbie Miller looks set to deliver all of the same atmospheric beauty in his second EP ‘Closer To Home’.
Lead single Road starts the EP well, opening to wandering synthesiser melodies met by gentle, thudding drums. Miller’s voice shines in the chorus, his warm lower register just as memorable as his tender falsetto. The steady build throughout creates a delicate balance of anticipation and satisfaction, and at only three and a half minutes, it guarantees you will be left wanting more.
Although Miller’s previous single The Pain starts slow, driving drum beats and upbeat guitar melodies transform it into an energetic, passionate tune. Peppered with harmonies to spice up the constant rhythm, the track took on an irresistibly sweet country vibe. His latest release Road is evidence of Miller’s ability to move with the times, embracing the easy flow of electronica but never losing that smooth harmonic touch.
In anticipation of ‘Closer To Home’, The Pain and Road gained exposure on triple j and earned Miller supporting slots on tour with Josh Pyke and Dustin Tebbutt as well as his own BIGSOUND showcase. He’s now preparing to hit the road again in support of his second EP, and you can grab a ticket below!
Robbie Miller’s second EP ‘Closer To Home’ is set for release on Friday, 28th of October. Check out his first single Road below!
