Tasty Guitar Tunes For Your Thursday

GREEVES with Moving Up

Greeves 2016

Prog rock 5-piece Greeves have dropped their groovy new single Moving Up ahead of their forthcoming debut album ‘Bulletchild’. After crushing it at St Kilda Festival and Beyond the Valley, the band is excited to share their new music with bigger audiences.

Moving Up is a rock song led by groovy electric guitar sounds that are dominated by a five part vocal harmony. A galloping eruption of rhythm mixes with catchy reggae melodies and high energy riffs and  the hypnotising dual guitar solo finishes it off. This is a classic rock tune that throws it back with a contemporary sound.

SANS PARENTS with Can’t Stop Moving

Sans Parents 2016

After a year long silence, Brisbane indie pop 4-piece Sans Parents have released their new single Can’t Stop Moving along with a kaleidoscopic music video.

The track is a real treat for lovers of sophisticated power pop. Addictive vocals and layered guitar tunes will hook you in from the start and the 70s pop rock sound will have you nodding your head and tapping your feet. The accompanying video, shot with a 90s camcorder, is a psychedelic visualisation of escaping the daily grind.

The band will release their debut EP in the coming months to coincide with nationwide tour dates.

TWIN PEAKS with Butterfly

Twin Peaks 2016

Still riding high on the success of their first single Walk To The One You Love, Chicago rockers Twin Peaks have released second single Butterfly ahead of their forthcoming album ‘Down In Heaven’. The Butterfly lyric video features a series of handwritten notes with sounds of swinging rock and gloomy pop. Screaming vocals and simple guitar chords convey a feeling of carelessness.  As guitarist Clay Frankel said, “let’s have sex because we’re all going to die.”

In the lead up to the  album release, the classic rock revivalists are also going on their first ever Australian Tour and playing intimate shows in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

‘Down In Heaven’ will be released on Friday 13 May.
