Rowena Wise Digs Deep With “Hollow Hearts” Video + Tour Dates

Rowena Wise captured our ears and hearts with her authentic compositional style on Then We Met, and her latest release Hollow Hearts lives up to the hype. Now the Melbourne-based songstress is preparing to head out on tour with a fresh new music video to her name.

Hollow Hearts is built on a delicate instrumental foundation, perfectly suited to Wise’s unique vocals. The rhythmic ukulele melody carries a sense of purity and innocence through the song, balanced by her sharp, forthright lyrics – “Again, honey, you’ve forsaken me/It’s always on our stormy nights that you go looking for loose kites/…/You say you can’t keep us afloat, then you get thirsty for a show”. Complete with an infectious chorus melody and angelic harmonies, Hollow Hearts refuses to be forgotten.

The Hollow Hearts music video is a window into the struggle of recovering from a broken heart. Wise doesn’t waste a chance to show off her acting chops as the clip moves from a forlorn wander through the park into a dramatic Taylor Swift-style break-up scene and back again. This is one for those who have been in and out of love – Wise couldn’t have captured the doubt and insecurity of the aftermath any better.
