Ruel Steps Into a Bold New Era With Sophomore Album ‘Kicking My Feet’

Global pop sensation Ruel has officially released his highly anticipated sophomore album, Kicking My Feet, out today. The 11-track record marks a defining new chapter for the 22-year-old Australian artist, showcasing his evolution from teenage prodigy to one of pop’s most emotionally compelling voices.

Led by the focus track ‘Not What’s Going On’, the album dives deep into themes of love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and growth. Building on the vulnerability of previous singles ‘Wild Guess’, ‘I Can Die Now’, and ‘The Suburbs’, Kicking My Feet captures Ruel at his most honest and introspective.

Ruel describes the project as his “clearest vision yet”, blending heartfelt storytelling with lush, folk-tinged pop production. The album’s sonic palette was shaped by an impressive roster of collaborators including Julian Bunetta (Sabrina Carpenter, One Direction), Kenny Beats, Dan Wilson (Adele, Taylor Swift), and longtime producer M-Phazes.

Accompanying the release is the tongue-in-cheek ‘Wild Guess’ music video, co-starring comedian Mary Beth Barone, who praised Ruel’s professionalism and charm on set.

With Kicking My Feet, Ruel cements his status as one of Australia’s brightest exports, delivering a record that feels deeply personal, mature, and effortlessly timeless.
