Safety First Reveal Raw New Single, ‘Bracelet’
Eora/Sydney quintet Safety First has unveiled their latest single, Bracelet, following their April release, That’s What You’re Like. This new track showcases a more personal and intense side of the band, particularly for lead vocalist Lexi Green, who wrote the song during a challenging period of self-discovery.
Bracelet reflects Lexi’s experiences coming out as non-binary and being diagnosed with ADHD, capturing the emotional highs and lows of that journey. The song departs from the band’s usual light-hearted style, featuring gritty vocals and raw emotion. Lexi’s powerful performance, combined with lush rhythm guitars and shimmering lead riffs, builds an atmosphere of tension and vulnerability, offering listeners a deeper connection to the music.

“This is probably the most personal song we have released so far. I wrote the lyrics during a very turbulent period of my life – there was a lot happening, both good and bad, and I couldn’t predict how it would end. I had recently come out as non binary, and been diagnosed with ADHD and my whole life felt like it had been turned on its head. People looked at me and talked to me differently. I felt like an outsider around people I had known for years.” – Lexi Green, Safety First.
Produced by Lexi and guitarist Zac Olsen, with mixing by Blain Cunneen (Julia Jacklin, Georgia Mulligan), Bracelet leans into a heavier sound. Despite its darker themes, the track maintains a sense of hope, reflecting Lexi’s perseverance and determination to stay positive amid adversity.
As Safety First continues to rise in the Australian music scene, Bracelet stands out as a powerful and authentic expression of the band’s evolving sound and artistic vision.
