Sarah Connor Kicking Goals With “Apex” Video
Sydney hip hop star Sarah Connor has dropped her Apex music video featuring Sydney-via-UK rapper Bigredcap alongside Sydney emcee Losty, and it’s fire! In the first verse, Bigredcap’s chilling opening hook sets up the “like a boss” vibe, the perfect counterpart to Connor’s killer wordplay and “boss b*tch” attitude.
Losty and Bigredcap fuel Connor’s explosive energy throughout the song, translating it perfectly into a visual setting. Offsetting their intimidating gritty vibe, the video ends on a comical note, communicating the trio’s tight bond and chemistry. It’s clear these three are a force not to be messed with.
Connor is set to follow up the single with an EP later this year, and it could be one of 2016’s most promising Australian hip hop releases, boasting collaborations with soul singer Natalie Slade and the production influences of Lou Koo, Jaytee Hazard, Jesse Marantz, and ILL 86.
Since winning the Hilltop Hoods’ $10,000 APRA AMCOS grant last year, Connor has taken the hip hop scene by storm, supporting hip hop greats Common, Talib Kweli, Dylan Joel, and Thundamentals.
