Selahphonic Pump Up The Jam In “Easy” Music Video
Our favourite feel-good Sunny Coast quartet Selahphonic has dropped the music video for their latest track Easy, filmed and directed by the band themselves! Through an inflated journey, the clip shows that life isn’t always breezy, and it will have you feeling a wave of emotions for quite an unusual character!
Set in Brisbane’s nightlife hub Fortitude Valley, the video is a creative representation of pressing on when times get tough, following an inflatable flailing tube man as he ditches his car dealership home to find fellow wave-crazed dudes. After trying to dance with objects such as a lifeless mannequin and a stone-cold lion, the inflatable man does what anyone would do in Fortitude Valley: he gets drunk!
Feeling deflated, he walks around with his expressionless eyes on the ground, until a ‘Mr Inflatables’ flyer sends him to a warehouse. Inflatable men are everywhere, all blowing in the wind and never has an expressionless blow-up tube looked happier!
The clip’s tongue-in-cheek humour is a breath of fresh air as well as a hopeful message for those who struggle to fit in: if you keep moving forward, you will find what you’re looking for. For a DIY video, Easy is a splendid mix of emotions with a vivacious approach to the challenges of life.
Selahphonic frontman Jamie Coyle said the band had originally planned for the Easy clip to follow the serious tone of the song, but when ideas ran dry they decided to take a different approach.
“Through our frustrations, we decided to just have a good ol’ LOL and take a more light-hearted approach with the interpretation via an inflatable tube man borrowed from a second-hand car dealership. Crisis averted! Unsure if we ever returned that tube man though,” Coyle joked.
