Shoey’s At the Ready, I Love Life Festival Is Back!
After having a crazy first round, I Love Life festival is returning for its second installment. Co-presented by Poison City Records and achy-breaky heartwrenchers The Smith Street Band, the festival is hitting Sydney and Brisbane with both Aussie and international artists.
Headlined by party-rockers The Bennies, it’s sure to be full of beer-soaked moshers, stage dives and the stench of post-adolescent sweat. Also featuring on the lineup is alt-metal outfit High Tension, punk rockers The Hard Aches, and our dose of US punk tunes will come from Rozwell Kid, Pity Sex, and Cayetana.
Last year’s inaugural edition was well-received for being an event that represented hard working musicians, and passionate music for passionate fans. The event lived up to its namesake, keeping punters on a life-high with rocking vibes and memorable sing-a-longs.
I Love Life is very alike to the Poison City Weekender, which returns in September for its eighth year and will be played across three of Melbourne’s most iconic venues. Featuring on the lineup is The Bennies, High Tension, Rozwell Kid, Pity Sex, Ceres and Totally Unicorn.
Seeing a successful band like The Smith Street Band getting involved in the Australian music scene and acting as more than just musicians is admirable and definitely gains the band further respect. They also go a step further and expose audiences to some overseas artists that may not play on Australian shores very often.
