LCD Sound System – Brixton Academy – London – 28th June 2022
I love LCD Sound System – one of my all-time faves and this night at Brixton Academy in London was an exceptional show. The packed sweaty crowd was insanely excited and sang/shouted along with every riff and lyric. It’s a killer venue and they played all their hits. It was a hot long gig with incredible energy and such warmth and respect from a loving crowd – so many happy smiling faces – major fun show!
Fatboy Slim – Pikes – Ibiza – 4th August 2022
Pikes Hotel is a very famous Ibiza institution in the San Antonio hills with a deep rock n roll history. It has a tiny night club there called “Freddie’s” that holds around 100 people. Despite its size, it’s a coveted gig and big artists love to play it. Fatboy Slim played for 5 hours and it was crazy fun. I danced all night sweating my ass off packed into this tiny club – absolute electric energy – I can’t remember having more fun dancing.
Kaytranada– Soho House – Paris – June 23rd 2022
Word spread fast that Kaytranada was doing a late night show in the club room at Soho House Paris. Out front there was so many people trying to get in that the street was blocked off to traffic. It was a mad scene. Kaytranada is a real performer and his set of super funky house music with classic Motown remixes rocked the house. I love this basement club room at Soho House Paris – super chic. It was a sexy, funky, amazing night of music and dancing.
Joyryde – Lollapallooza Paris – July 18th 2022
Easily the most insane crowd I’ve seen in a long time for Joyryde’s set at Lollapalooza Paris. Amidst a sweltering and brutal heat, the relentless mosh pit thrashed around whilst security sprayed firehoses over the crowd to cool it down. It was pure mayhem. The energy was intense and the music pumped so hard – it was killer. The whole experience was mad fun, anarchy, exhausting, – but amazing.
Jamie XX – Reset Festival – New York – June 16th 2023
I love Jamie XX’s song GOSH so much and hearing an extended version, on a balmy evening at Forest Hills Stadium in New York, with a happy bouncy crowd – awesome!
