Slum Sociable Release New Single “Name Call” & Announce National Tour
Making a huge impact in 2015 with their debut EP ‘TQ’, Melbourne indie-electronic duo Slum Sociable are back with their new chilling single Name Call. Infusing dreamy psychedelia with hip-hop, Name Call is sure to fit the bill for anyone looking for a song to chill out to!
A stunning piece, the song flows with a silky lo-fi twist on hip-hop that’s drenched with a soothing jazz-like piano. The addition of the poppy bass and smooth backing vocals during the chorus add a layer of depth that isn’t in the rest of the piece, giving the verses a washed-out effect and keeping the chorus powerful and exotic. Calming lyrics, and the accompanying eerie whistled melody make for an unnerving piece.
After a productive 2015, which saw the duo with headline shows in the US and UK, and the release of their EP, this year saw them performing at Laneway Festival and Splendour in the Grass as well as recording for their debut album.
Eager to get out the studio, Slum Sociable have also announced their first headline tour in almost a year with shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney.
The duo are putting the finishing touches on their debut album, to be released in early 2017, but in the mean time check out Name Call for a taste of what’s to come!
