Soft Play Drop Expanded Album Heavier Jelly Featuring Kate Nash & Unreleased Tracks

UK punk duo Soft Play have returned with Heavier Jelly—an extended version of their critically acclaimed 2024 album Heavy Jelly, which marked their highest-ever UK chart debut at #3. Out now, Heavier Jelly adds six fresh tracks that expand the sonic world of the original, including new single Slushy, a fiery collaboration with Kate Nash that premiered on BBC 6Music.

Described by the band as “the bastard children of Heavy Jelly,” these additional songs reveal a broader, more experimental side of Soft Play. The record features everything from folk influences (Heavy Jelly title track) to twisted big beat spoken word experiments (Chairman of the Council) and raw hip-hop energy (Take Me To The Tip). Despite being left off the original album for tonal consistency, these tracks now find a home in this wider, weirder release.

Fresh off a sold-out UK tour and a successful Australian run, Soft Play are showing no signs of slowing down. With upcoming North American dates, festival slots, and shows alongside IDLES, The Libertines and Slipknot, the duo are riding high.

Heavier Jelly is available now, everywhere.
