SOMA Unveils Bold New Single ‘Say It’ Ahead of Debut Mixtape ‘COBRA’

Sydney-based hip hop and urban artist SOMA has dropped her latest single, Say It, a sultry and futuristic blend of alternative hip hop and soul. Created in collaboration with renowned producer Danny Duke (Lizzo, Sampa the Great), Say It offers a bold, genre-defying sound that delves into themes of love, identity, and belonging.

The single explores the story of an alien falling for a human, symbolizing the universal longing for unconditional acceptance.

“Say It is about an alien falling in love with a human on Earth and exploring this intense, otherworldly connection. It’s a metaphor for feeling like you don’t belong yet finding someone who accepts and loves you unconditionally. It’s sensual, intimate, and cosmic—pushing boundaries while still remaining deeply human. The idea came from a conversation about how love transcends everything: distance, identity, and even planets. Releasing Say It feels surreal. This single represents such a bold step for me as an artist—it’s raw, emotional, and unlike anything I’ve done before. The accompanying cosmic music video, directed by Frederick McHenry, features surreal visuals of glowing alien skin and neon-lit cityscapes, perfectly capturing the track’s otherworldly allure.

Say It serves as the lead single from SOMA’s highly anticipated debut mixtape, COBRA, set for release on *February 21. The 11-track collection promises to tackle themes of life, love, loss, and self-discovery, paired with a 20-minute visual film to enhance its narrative.

To celebrate, SOMA will host a mixtape launch party in Sydney on March 7, delivering a live experience full of energy, storytelling, and surprises. With COBRA, SOMA solidifies herself as a rising force in the Australian music scene.
