Sophian Unveil Ethereal Single, ‘Dance With Me’
Boorloo/Perth-based indie-rock band Sophian have returned with their latest hypnotic single ‘Dance With Me‘ – produced by Dave Parkin at Blackbird Studios (Spacey Jane, Sly Withers, Old Mervs).
‘Dance With Me’ enchants with frontman Sophian Manik‘s captivating vocals, gliding effortlessly across mesmerising funk-inspired instrumentation. The laid-back rhythmic cadences meld within introspective lyricism, crafting vivid images of wanderlust, that evoke an escapade within the rich sonic dreamscape.
Frontman Sophian Manik talks about the inspiration behind ‘Dance With Me’:
“When I started to write this song, I had just come out of deep conversations with two people I really love, about their feelings of their own self-worth and how they were struggling to see that. I wanted them to know how amazing and special they are and how they just needed a little push to know this.”
Accompanying the release is the captivating music video, directed/edited by Sarah Haleem and filmed at Feld & Co in Boorloo/Perth. Yellow subtitles add a vibrant contrast to cool blue and purple tones that lead the visual palette, as the band’s energetic and magnetic energy takes centre stage. Wide shots of a hazy spotlight and full band performance scenes create a dynamic showcase, as the video is bathed in a kaleidoscope of colours.
