Sophie Lilah Unveils Her Stunning Debut EP, ‘Fear/Instinct’

Perth indie folk artist Sophie Lilah has today released her highly anticipated debut EP, Fear/Instinct, showcasing a musical talent that far exceeds her 18 years. With its official drop today, this collection of five moody, delicate tracks marks the arrival of a young artist poised to make a significant impact within her scene.

Drawing from personal experiences during her final years of high school, Sophie Lilah crafts a sound that blends acoustic guitar, dreamy synths, and haunting vocals. The EP opens with Real, a powerful ballad that highlights Sophie’s impressive vocal range, paired with understated drums and rich acoustic guitar. The recently released single Content But I Find follows, offering a light, whimsical melody that feels both nostalgic and intimate, almost like a lullaby.

The EP takes a turn with Dreamland, a groovy track with an addictive bass riff and vocals that evoke a cinematic, mysterious atmosphere. Collecting Dust delves into darker territory, exploring themes of depression with a slow build-up of dramatic, earthy guitar sounds. The finale, Sinking, combines layered, ethereal vocals with a gentle acoustic backdrop, creating a transcendent listening experience.

Sophie Lilah may be young, but Fear/Instinct proves that she’s an artist to watch. This debut EP is more than a collection of songs; it’s a profound statement from a rising star in the indie folk world.
