Splendour In The Grass: Has The First Major Act Been Leaked?

With Splendour still not for another four months away the wait for the lineup announcement can’t come soon enough. With the last few years presenting ripper lineups our expectations are pretty high, but a few festivities over the pond have got us worried.

After the double threat release of WayHome and Mo Pop Festival in the US earlier this year we didn’t think much more could be taken from the possible #SITG2016 lineup…we were wrong! Panorama Festival in New York will be taking place in Randall’s Island Park from July 22-24. With the same directors as Coachella, they don’t mess around when it comes to putting on an earthshaking festival.

Booking in for NY this July is Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, and Kurt Vile among many others. Other crowd favourites such as Flosstradamus, Foals, and Alabama Shakes will also be hitting up Panorama. In addition, Australian acts Sia and RUFUS were swiped from our hopeful guesses with the Panorama line up.

Our hopes are shaky but still holding on tight to Matt Corby, Frank Ocean, and The 1975.Oh, and of course we can’t forget the most wanted Australian festival artist Shannon Noll. With The 1975’s sophomore album dropping only last week and a Splendour-sized gap in their touring schedule, the British guitar-pop outfit are looking like a highly probable Amphitheater act.
