Stereosonic Founder To Announce Two New Festivals

Stereosonic

EDM fans and general Stereosonic enthusiasts alike are set to have their wounds from Stereo’s cancellation  healed. Founder of Stereosonic Richie McNeill is set to announce two new events within the coming year.

“I am launching a new festival in December (and) have a camping festival launching next year,” McNeill told Mixmag.

“Heaps of tours. Heaps of new events. You’ll just have to wait and see. Can’t let too much out of the bag.”

The Music has reported the unannounced December festival will take place on the same weekend that Sydney’s cancelled Stereosonic is traditionally held. A spokesman from Sydney Showgrounds has confirmed there’s a big event scheduled that weekend…

It’s believed McNeill’s Hardware Group will be running the show, with McNeill saying he’d team up with Frank Cotela (Stereo co-founder) again.

“Sure (I would work with him), Frank is great,” McNeill said. “He has always been forward thinking and we share a passion for the music and putting on shows.”

Organisers are yet to confirm the festival is EDM based, however given McNeill’s background with Stereosonic it’s looking pretty likely! Now to find where we put our protein powder and muscle singlets…
