Summer’s Coming Early With Jai Wolf’s Australian Tour
Get ready to throw down your best dance moves – electronica’s rising star, NY-based Jai Wolf, is coming Down Under!
The 5-date ‘Somewhere In A Forest’ Tour (sorry, not a bush doof) was announced with a video on Wolf’s Facebook page. The live show has been described as an “ascending rollercoaster”, so don’t eat for an hour beforehand, and allocate a friend to stay outside and hold the bags.
The tour announcement comes off the back of Wolf’s follow-up single Drive, released last month, featuring the voices of Kamtin Mohager from The Chain Gang of 1974. The track features the same upbeat electronica sound as Wolf’s debut, Indian Summer. Dripping with synthesisers, it blends Mohager’s soaring and echoing vocals with swirling backing lines. The beat drives the song forward through the long, drawn-out synth notes. Towards the end of the track, hints of electronically manipulated guitar add texture and complexity to the arrangement.
The last 12 months have been massive for Jai Wolf, who has signed to Skrillex’s OWSLA record label, played Coachella, and sold out all the dates on his US tour. His original tracks and remixes like ODESZA’s Say My Name and Skrillex’s Ease My Mind have been making waves in a number of mediums.
