Sydney Heavy Outfit Heists Drop Explosive New EP ‘Beneath The Surface’
Eora/Sydney heavy outfit Heists have unleashed their brand-new EP Beneath The Surface, produced by Ionei Heckenberg (Ocean Sleeper). The release cements Heists’ place as one of the most exciting rising forces in the Australian metalcore scene, blending relentless breakdowns, soaring melodies, and raw lyrical honesty.
Across its tracks, Beneath The Surface dives deep into themes of betrayal, sacrifice, survival, and grief—shining a light on the hidden battles that weigh beneath everyday life. Guitarist Guy Vears explains, “We wanted to touch on struggles that we all face… this EP was our way of exploring those feelings while reminding people they’re not alone in them.”

Already generating nearly 1 million streams from its singles, Beneath The Surface showcases the band’s evolving sound—balancing grit and vulnerability with meticulously layered production. The EP follows a massive year for Heists, who have shared stages with Stepson, The Gloom In The Corner, Ocean Sleeper, Point North, and Northlane, while also completing their debut national headline tour.
“This EP pushed us to grow more than anything we’ve done before. From writing, to recording, to taking it on stage, we’ve all grown in ways we didn’t expect. The last year has been huge for us as a band and as people, and Beneath The Surface is the clearest snapshot of who we are right now.” – Frontman, Chris Zagas
Heists will support the release with their biggest headline tour yet this November, joined by Outloved, Signals, and St.Sinner.
Beneath The Surface is available now, everywhere.
