Sydney’s Chuck Sics Drops Hypnotic New Single ‘I’ve Been Thinking’ Ahead of Debut EP ‘Slipstream’

Sydney-based artist and multi-instrumentalist Chuck Sics has unveiled his lush new single I’ve Been Thinking an indie anthem for procrastinators, introverts, and overthinkers everywhere. Serving as the third single from his highly anticipated debut EP Slipstream (out September 23), the track blends hypnotic textures reminiscent of Radiohead and Tame Impala with Chuck’s knack for deeply relatable lyricism.

Self-produced and mixed, I’ve Been Thinking offers a crunchy yet immersive sonic palette, exploring the frustrations of overthinking and feeling stuck.

I’ve Been Thinking is essentially a song about procrastination. It’s about feeling like you’re stuck thinking about life instead of living it, and keeping that locked inside your mind.

For me, it’s particularly relevant to writing, recording and releasing music,” Chuck adds. “You can think about a song for a long time: about how it’s going to sound, and how it will be received etc. I end up living in a fantasy world where the song exists before I’ve done the hard work to make it.” Chuck Sics.

Following his debut single Redo and follow-up M.A.D, the new track continues to showcase Chuck’s versatility, with Slipstream promising a five-track journey through themes of dread, self-analysis, and reflection. Playing every instrument on the EP himself, Chuck Sics has crafted a whimsical yet hard-hitting alt-pop-rock experience, five years in the making.

I’ve Been Thinking is available now everywhere, giving fans an intimate taste of what’s to come from one of Sydney’s most compelling emerging artists.
