Sydney’s “Thrustcore” Pioneers Release Music Video & Single
Sydney’s thrustcore outfit Rick Dangerous & The Silkie Bantams have released their energetic single Bruja and accompanying music video. The single comes ahead of their 7-track album ‘Thrust Machine set for release on April 22.
The song is a genre of its own that could only be explained by if The white Stripes decided to go in a doom/groove metal direction. The tribalistic rhythms and chants combining with heavy choruses definitely makes it pure headbanging fodder.
The music video is set in a forest, helping to further portray the Silkie Bantams’ tribal sounding song. Throughout the video vocalist Rick Dangerous is depicted as a faceless spiritual being, wearing a cloak as he invites band members to join in on a dance. Eventually, the band members partake in a comedic stylised dance, adding even more weirdness to visual experience.
The groove-metal pheasants are currently touring the East Coast of Australia, with last remaining gig happening in Melbourne on the 15th of April.
