Take 5 With Fangz
After releasing their warmly received single ‘Falling Out’, Sydney-based melodic-punk group, FANGZ, have just unveiled their brazen new cut ‘Drifter’ – produced by Stevie Knight (Yours Truly, Stand Atlantic, The Dead Love), and mixed by James Paul Wisner (Hands Like Houses, Underoath). We caught up with the Sydney-siders recently and got into depth with what they’re digging at the moment.
The Used – Paradise Lost, a poem by John Milton
The year was 2002 and I discovered The Used and tried to work out how to turn my curly hair into a stylish emo fringe. The year is now 2020 and I just want to write a song this good.
Clowns – I Wanna Feel Again
Have you seen Clowns before? If you answered yes, you get it. If you answered no, make this a priority immediately. This song in particular is an assault on all the senses.
Grenade Jumper – Heat Wave
Unashamed pop punk brilliance! Some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet – playing some of the hookiest (is that a word?) music around.
Dune Rats – Bobby D
Bobby D I want to hang out with you. “We shoulda grown up together and been best mates”. This is such a party banger! The perfect Friday just knock off tune.
Bare Bones – Gold Leaf
Bare Bones might write the best riffs in the game and I think this is the best one off their lates album ‘Rival Minds’ which says a lot. Lets not forget TK’s vocals. This song is the soundtrack to my inevitable self destruction.
Drifter is available now everywhere.
