Take 5 With Gavin Mac
Sydney alt-country artist Gavin Mac new single ‘Sideswiped’ is out now. Gavin will be playing at the Post Office Hotel in Tamworth on Saturday July 20 – FREE SHOW. To celebrate the new single and show, Gavin has shared with us 5 of his favourite tracks of the minute and why.
- Tear You Apart – Sara Berki
A fantastic Aussie talent is on the rise, and I’m digging this new single Tear You Apart. I loved Sara’s Heartline EP too from 2023 and am looking forward to seeing her play the first chance I get.
- Long Way Home – Ray LaMontagne
Ray is so soulful. He sounds like he’s time travelled to deliver southern folk songs stray out of the late 60’s / early 70’s. His music is perfect for ray days and contemplation. If you haven’t listened to his classic album Gossip in the Grain do it. Like, now.
- Lucky Sometimes – Midland
I love these guys – I saw them in BrisVegas last year with Travis Collins. I love their honky tonk songs and smooth vibe. They’re cool guys in cowboy hats. I’m a big fan of their Let It Roll album from 2019
- I think I’m in Love With You – Chris Stapleton
This track is a go for me, whenever I’m driving. I love the groove and the really simple guitar lick and hope Chris keeps throwing little bits of laid back funk like this track into his future albums
- Fuel & Fireworks – Andrew Swift & Amber Lawrence
Another belter from both of these awesome Aussie Country artists. I’m a sucker for a duet and recon and love how the retro rock/pop chorus sets the track alight. Oh, the fireworks!
Gavin Mac’s new single, Sideswiped is available now, everywhere.
