Take 5 With Indigo Blaze
Boorloo/Perth-based metal band Indigo Blaze have returned with their latest release ‘Wanna Play?‘ – produced and mixed by Matt Templeman (Make Them Suffer, Voyager, Sly Withers). To celebrate the release the Indigo Blaze have shared with us their five favourite tracks of the minute and why.
JOHN CENA – Joey Valence & Brae
The ultimate hip-hop party duo, a modern incarnation of the Beastie Boys. These two bring the ruckus with some of the best one-liners in the game today. This track in particular creates the perfect 90s club atmosphere and references pro wrestling throughout. The ultimate combination!
A sweaty industrial european club with clouds of humidity, the smoke clears and out step Rammstein. Slept on in these modern times, this band brings an imperial nu metal march that is unmatched. Their influence will no doubt be present in our future tunes.
Model Plane – Drapht, Bitter Belief & Complete
A coming together of some of Perth’s greatest hip hop artists. In a case of coffee fate I bumped into Bitter Belief at my local cafe and started chatting music. This track has some epic lines with a killer lead riff and is just the dream team of WA hip-hop.
This track is a huge stylistic change for Fontaines which we’re loving. Has a dark heavy groove and some excellent lyrical content. Not an act that you’d think would influence our band but our tastes are far reaching.
A pure 00’s throwback, fast paced and in your face. Static X were front and centre of the industrial metal genre using samples to enhance their tracks. The vocal pattern in this track gives plenty of space and lets the track go hard!
