Take 5 With Kate Gill

Step into the ethereal world of Kate Gill and her confessional EP ‘from my bedroom floor’, unveiling a mesmerising blend of dreamy synth-pop that serves as a poignant exploration of the human experience by the TikTok sensation. To celebrate the release today, Kate shares with us her 5 favourite tracks of the minute and why.

Mess It Up – Gracie Abrams
I’m pretty sure this song is laced with something because I simply will never get sick of it. The production is so bold and I really love the driving guitar rhythms.

Sabrina Carpenter – Decode
This was my number one song on my Spotify wrapped for 2023, so it’s safe to say I’m obsessed with it. It’s just so simple and vulnerable, and when the strings come in towards the end it feels Iike I’m entering the gates of heaven.

The Neighborhood – Grace Enger
I genuinely don’t think I have words to describe how good this song is. I remember my producer showing it to me for the first time and I think it was the only song I listened to for like 2 weeks straight. Perfection.

Damage You Still Do – Mikayla Pasterfield
The most gutwrenchingly beautiful song. Mikayla’s songwriting inspires me so much and this track is just incredible.

Ceilings – Lizzy McAlpine
Do I even need to explain this one? The imagery, the melody, the stripped back production that slowly builds to a cinematic climax – no words.

Kate Gill’s new EP, from my bedroom floor is available now, everywhere.
