Take 5 With PAULINA

Following on from her critically praised single Lonely Drives, Brisbane-based singer-songwriter Paulina has returned with her suave new cut ‘Parasite’ – produced by Toby Hobart. To get to know Paulina a little better, she’s shared with us 5 of her favourite jams!

Problem With You – Sabrina Claudio

I can’t get enough of her laid-back, sexy, yet still groovy voice and the alternative R&B and Latin influences that seep their way into her unique sound. She has such an artsy and sensual aesthetic that I am just so so obsessed with. If there’s one artist I want to collab and ahhh just be besties with, haha, it’d have to be my girl Sabrina <333.

Guns in the Distance – Maverick Sabre

The first time I listened to this song, I couldn’t stop bopping my head because of the insane groove that Maverick created. Yet, I also had literal tears streaming down my face because the song addresses some of the toughest realities humanity faces, that being war and the human cost, and holy, that makes me emotional. So, please just take an hour out of your day and spend it listening to this whole album as well, because wow, it’s so worth it.

Les matins – Angèle

Anyone who truly knows me knows I have an obsession with France, the French language and anything French. So even though I don’t fully understand the lyrics in this song (I’m slowly getting there, haha), I get the most incredible vibes from the song. The drive of it, and her insanely gorgeous vocals, make me feel as though I’m driving in a little old Volkswagen Beetle along the coast of the Côte d’Azur, just living my absolute best life. I simply just love the way this song makes me feel.

More To Give – DVNA

DVNA is a queen, and this song is a clear depiction of that. I’ve listened to her music in the past, but when I finally saw her live, it was an absolute game-changer. Her soft, beautiful vocals, supported by her R&B and jazz-influenced instrumentals, just hits perfectly. I have so much respect for her and am just obsessed with this song!!

Emotional – Eddie Benjamin

This song has been one of my favourites since its release back in April, and for a reason. Eddie’s spellbinding take on pop, with his soulful lyrics and mesmerising guitar solos, has left me in awe of him. I just love everything about this song 😉

Paulina’s new single, Parasite is available now, everywhere.
