Take 5 with Rance Lazarus

Melbourne singer-songwriter Rance Lazarus recently returned  with his endearing new single ‘Butterflies’, which premiered exclusively via us just last month.  To further celebrate the new single, Rance has shared with us 5 tracks he’s really digging at the moment.

‘Cause You Have To’ – LANY

‘Cause You Have To’ is the song that truly solidified my love for LANY. The lyrics in this track, like most of their songs, feel so genuine, and the production is incredible. As a fan of Christian music, this song stood out to me because it shares some of the same elements found in that genre.”

I’m In Love With You – The 1975

The 1975 is a band I recently started listening to, and the production in this song is incredible. Matt Healy’s voice is so unique, and the way he phrases his lyrics is exceptional. The simplicity of the chorus really inspires me to write songs in a similar style.

‘feelslikeimfallinginlove’- Coldplay

It’s such a feel-good track that reminds me of what love feels like. The lyrics are relatable and beautifully written. It inspires me to write a song where I can picture the audience singing the chorus back to me.

‘Twenty Something’ – Nightly

I really love the vibe of this song and the message behind it, about helping someone through a tough time. It’s well-written, with a catchy chorus and nicely spaced verses.

‘It Even Rains in LA’ – LANY

It’s one of those songs I could just listen to all day on repeat and not get sick of it. The lyrics one again so authentic and reminds me that I’m not alone in the struggles I face.
