Taking Back Sunday Are Bringing A ‘Tidal Wave’ To Australia!

Taking Back Sunday 2016

Yankee punk-rockers Taking Back Sunday have announced a run of Australian tour dates in March, in support of their forthcoming album ‘Tidal Wave’. The last time the 5-piece were here was in 2014, when they embarked on a co-headline tour with The Used.

Since forming in 1999, the band has dominated the globe with their emo-punk style. ‘Tidal Wave’ will be their seventh studio album and is set to continue on their evolving path towards a more pop-punk orientated sound.

Talking about the album, the band said, “we really can’t wait for [fans] to hear it. Everyone is working hard to categorize where this music fits and all we can say is we wrote from the heart and did the best work we could.”

Their claim to fame was ‘Louder Now’ back in 2006, which sold over 900,000 copies and achieved #2 on the US album charts. Their previous album ‘Happiness Is’ reached #10 on the Billboard US Charts, and many other genre charts.

Known for their dual vocals and quite emo lyrics, the band has come a long way since angsty teen anthems A Decade Under The Influence  and Cute Without The ‘E’ (From The Team). Their recent tracks Best Places To Be A Mom and Tidal Wave still pack plenty of punch, they now just sing about…older people issues rather than slutty high school girls.

Taking Back Sunday’s seventh studio album ‘Tidal Wave’ is set to be released Friday, 16th of September. Check out their upcoming tour dates and the album’s title track below!
