Tame Impala Announces New Album Deadbeat, Out This October, Following Release of Single ‘Loser’
Australian psych-rock icon Tame Impala has officially announced his fifth studio album, Deadbeat, set for release on October 17. The news arrives just one day after Kevin Parker dropped his latest single, Loser, marking an exciting new chapter for the acclaimed project.
Deadbeat will be Tame Impala’s first full-length release since 2020’s The Slow Rush. Written and recorded between Parker’s Fremantle hometown and his studio in Injidup, Western Australia, the 12-track record takes heavy inspiration from bush doof culture and the WA rave scene. The album will also feature the previously released singles End of the Summer and Loser.

The Loser music video stars actor and musician Joe Keery (Stranger Things, Djo), who briefly swaps roles with Parker in a surreal, character-driven performance that adds a cinematic edge to the track.
While it’s been five years since his last album, Parker has remained busy. He won his first Grammy for his collaboration with Justice, contributed music to blockbuster films including Barbie and Dungeons & Dragons, and teamed up with artists such as Thundercat, Gorillaz, Dua Lipa, and Diana Ross.
With Deadbeat, Tame Impala promises a hypnotic fusion of dance, psychedelia, and raw emotion — a record fans worldwide have been waiting for.
